Remote configuration from PCs

Users of ABB's ScreenMaster SM500F field-mountable videographic recorder can now download software that enables them to test any configurations on their PC by emulating the unit's behaviour. Operators can then transfer successful configurations over to the recorder using a SD memory card or an Ethernet connection.

The emulation software combines with the SM500F's on-board communications facility, enabling operators to configure the recorder from their PCs, rather than having to work on the unit in the field. Operators simply configure and fine-tune at their desks before downloading to the recorder.
