Waterproof panel PCs platform offer wide application options09 September 2008Trident has strengthened its industrial panel computer portfolio, with the introduction of a new family of waterproof PCs. The FOX-120 and FOX-150 multi-purpose computers from AAEON feature Intel Celeron M processors and touch-screen SVGA displays, housed in a waterproof casing that is rated to IP65 on all sides.
FOX-120 models feature a 12-inch SVGA colour TFT LCD displaying up to 262k colours with 800 x 600 resolution. The bright backlit 450cd/m squared screen offers a wide viewing angle of 140 degrees horizontal and 110 degrees vertical. An eight-wire, sunlight-readable touch screen provides the analogue resistive user input and is guaranteed over a million operations. Day and night modes are available for power-saving applications.
A 15-inch TFT LCD is built into the FOX-150, increasing screen resolution up to 1024 x 768 and colour depth up to 16.7 million. Brightness is the same as the 12-inch model, whilst viewing angle is wider: up to 160 degrees in both horizontal and vertical axes.
The new industrial panel computer are based on a low-power Intel Celeron M processor clocked at 1.5GHz; alternatively there is a 600MHz version for power-conscious applications. Trident can add the customer’s choice of Windows 2000, XP or XP Embedded, allowing flexibility and compatibility with OEM applications.
Both 12- and 15-inch models include up to 512MB of RAM, together with either and internal CompactFlash disk or an anti-vibration 2.5-inch disk-drive bay for solid-state storage. External connections through the rear-panel waterproof connector include dual RS-232 and two USB 2.0 ports. Optionally, 10/100Base-TX Ethernet is offered via a waterproof RJ-45 connector and an Audio (Mic-in / Line-in / Line-out) socket is also available.
Both models operated over an extended -20 to +60ºC temperature range and are resistant to shock and vibration. Vertical applications are facilitated by the choice of VESA 100mm or in-vehicle mounting. Contact Details and Archive...Related Articles...Most Viewed Articles...
