Leuze offers free workshops on machine safety in October09 September 2010Leuze electronic is running free workshops on machine safety over two days in October, as part of its UK 20th birthday celebrations. There is a choice of three sessions, including machine safety in hazardous environments (Ex) and machine safety software. All of the sessions will be run by Robert Sammer (pictured), manager of training and education for Leuze electronic’s machine safety systems in Germany. Robert is a well respected expert in machine safety and an active member of the European legislation committees. The three half-day sessions are as follows: October 11 (pm) and October 12 (am): Machine Safety training workshop. Subjects include CE and PUWER requirements; Current and forthcoming legislation; Standards and their implications; Case studies; Free tools and resources from Leuze electronic October 11 (am): Machine Safety in Hazardous Areas workshop. Subjects include Explosion protection fundamentals; ATEX 94/9/EC directive and its implications; Duties of the manufacturer / installer / end user; Machine Safety in hazardous areas (Ex) areas; Case studies; Free tools and resources from Leuze electronic October 12 (pm): Machine Safety software workshop -SAFEXPERT. Subjects include an introduction to SAFEXPERT software; its use in determining control category; EN ISO 13849-1:2006 and IEC 61508; SAFEXPERT application and case studies.
